Aptitudes for Growth; Attitudes for Success| Transforming the Sacred in Our Lives | | Posted by Kimberly on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 4:15pm | “Spirituality is the process that speaks to the greatest of our potentials. The capacity to envision, see, connect, hold on to, and transform the sacred may be what makes us uniquely human,” say positive psychology researchers Kenneth Pargament and Annette Mahoney.
The greatness of our potentials is found when we surrender our wills to our all-knowing creator. He made us, He is the one who knows what we are best equipped to do. When He created us, He gave each of us unique strengths to fulfill a specific calling on our lives. Opening up to that possibility is what keeps life fresh and exciting.
It takes faith to have a vision for what we want to do with our lives in the context of what He would have us do. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen. We can strengthen our faith by reaching out to Jesus –to connect with Him, to hold onto Him – or more to the point – to let Him hold onto us.
We can transform the sacred in our lives by transforming our minds. We transform the sacred by receiving His peace – the peace that passes all understanding.

| | | | | Let Him Be Your Everything | | Posted by Kimberly on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 4:50pm | How does faith help you when you have a situation which is out of your control?
Are you able to trust Jesus and His promises more than circumstances or your feelings? Are you able to lean your entire personality onto Him – totally dependent on His power and love?
Having faith in God is what makes life worth living. Believe that He wants to provide for you. He wants your total dependence and trust so that He can faithfully meet all your needs.
He is our wonderful Father, but in the human sphere, we see a metaphor for His love in the way a mother holds her infant. Let Him hold you. Let Him love you. Let Him be your Everything.

| | | | | Is Your Faith Deep, Strong and Resonating? | | Posted by Kimberly on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 1:21pm | Emily Dickinson had a child-like connection to Divinity.
She wrote:
“I never saw a moor,
I never saw the sea;
Yet know I how the heather looks,
And what a wave must be.
I never spoke with God,
Nor visited in heaven;
Yet certain am I of the spot
As if the chart were given.”
Examine yourself. Do you have this type of faith – deep, strong, and resonating?

Seeking the sacred is a life-long pursuit which begins in childhood. Young ones often have an amazing grasp on the infinite.
Read this endearing quote from a nine-year old Jewish boy:
“I’d like to find God. But He wouldn’t just be there, waiting for some spaceship to land! He’s not a person, you know! He’s a spirit. He’s like the fog and the mist. Maybe He’s like something- something we’ve never seen here. So how can we know? You can’t imagine Him, because He‘s so different - you’ve never seen anything like Him…I should remember that God is God,, and we are us. I guess I’m trying to get from me, from us, to Him with my ideas when I’m looking up at the sky!”
Out of the mouth of babes.

| | | | | The End Times and Your Eternal Salvation | | Posted by Kimberly on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 7:46pm |
I recently saw a rerun of a Billy Graham sermon in which he talked about the end times and the importance of salvation for each and every person on the planet. It really struck a chord in my heart. He talked about how people who are not saved will get a glimpse of Jesus and heaven, and then will be banished forever into hell with the memory of what they could have had for eternity.
So I plead with you – if you are not saved, get saved. We don’t know when the end will come but many think we are in the last days.
In his November 2011 In Touch magazine, Charles Stanley shares a prayer you can pray if you want to invite Jesus into your heart. It goes as follows:
“Lord Jesus, I believe You are truly the Son of God. I confess that I have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed. Please forgive all my wrongdoing, and let me live in relationship with You from now on. I receive You as my personal Savior, accepting the work You accomplished once and for all on the cross. Thank You for saving me. Help me to live a life that is pleasing to You. Amen.”
If you prayed that prayer, welcome to the kingdom. Why don’t you share the good news with everyone you meet? God is for us. God is with us. God is in us. Praise the Lord.
